The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Tuesday, August 19 reveals Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will try to cheer up Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).
Also coming up, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will get romantic. Plus, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) will talk about their recent losses.
Y&R spoilers tease Diane will set up a romantic Italian themed evening for Jack at the Abbott estate. They’ll talk about how their grandson will be home soon. And Jack will say they should make the most of their alone time now. The rest of Jack and Diane’s conversation will be as boring as their conversations usually are.
At the lookout, Tessa and Claire will enjoy some gelato together. Tessa will tell her she’s sorry about Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) and she wished she’d reached out to her. Claire will ask how Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is doing.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Tessa Tells Claire She And Mariah Separated
“Oh, you haven’t heard,” Tessa will reply. “Mariah and I are separated.” Claire will say she thought they were so solid and were the perfect couple. “I thought so too,” Tessa will reply. Claire will tell her she hates to think of her dealing with this all alone. But Tessa will say she hasn’t been. She’s been talking to someone and he’s been really helping her.
At Society, Daniel will walk in and overhear Holden talking to Cane on his phone. They’ll chat about the billionaire and Daniel will say he and Cane have something in common, the same ex-wife. He’ll ask Holden if his mother is making a mistake by aligning herself with Cane.
Holden will wonder what Daniel’s agenda is. He’ll say he’s just looking to protect his mother. “If you don’t want to tell me about Cane’s plan it’s cool,” Daniel will add. They’ll discuss the future and Holden will say he’d like to open a night club. Then Tessa and Claire will walk in and they’ll ask the two men how it’s going.
“I don’t know about my new friend,” Holden will reply, smiling at Claire. “But I know my night just got a lot better.” Holden will ask if they’d like to join them and he’ll order Vesper’s all around. They’ll discuss Claire losing her father and Daniel will say he lost his partner this year. Chin up Daniel. At least Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) got an onscreen funeral.
Regardless, Holden will say there’s nothing harder than losing someone you love. Tessa will look sad and Holden will ask if she lost someone too. Tessa will say no one died but the relationship she had with her soul mate might be coming to an end. Holden will say it sounds like she’s grieving too.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Great To Have People To Be Sad With
“We all are,” he’ll add. “Earlier today I had to bury my best friend.” Claire will say she’s so sorry, she forgot how close he and Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) were. Daniel and Tessa will say they’re sorry for his loss. “I know it’s a really hard time for everyone,” Tessa will tell them. “But it’s great that we have people we can be sad with.” And she’ll smile at Daniel.
In Cane’s choo choo train, Phyllis will show up, holding a bottle of champagne. He’ll tell her it’s not a good time. “I want you to know I’m in, for a hack attack,” she’ll reply. But Cane will tell her to dump it down the drain. “I’m not in the mood to toast or celebrate anything right now.”
Phyllis will ask what’s wrong and he’ll say he’s broken his (offscreen) kids hearts. So, she’ll toast to all their kids and she’ll tell Cane they’re a lot a like. Phyllis will also share her story about how she faked her own death and needed to make it up to her kids.
In fact, now that they’re closer, Phyllis will admit there’s something she should have told him earlier. “What aren’t you telling me?” he’ll ask angrily and Phyllis will be taken aback. So, she’ll say she saw Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) at Society and she was going on and on about the kids finding out he was Dumas.
Which is why she came over there to cheer him up. After all, Phyllis will add, they are partners now. But she’ll realize she may have overstayed her welcome. However, Cane will tell her to stay.
Finally, Cane will tell they are a lot a like. Phyllis will say they make a great team. But Cane will say he wants to make one thing very clear. “I have a lot of admiration for you, but we’re not partners,” he’ll tell her. “You are not the queen to my king. We are not equals.”
